In response to a growing interest in energy efficient residential water heating, CEE's Coalition For ENERGY STAR Water Heaters supports the efforts of efficiency program administrators to encourage manufacturers to adopt water heating specifications and expand market channels to enable the purchase high efficiency water heaters. The Coalition also promotes information about ENERGY STAR qualified water heaters to contractors and consumers.
In addition to CEE, energy efficiency program administrators throughout Canada and the U.S., the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), and prominent water heater manufacturers, including A. O. Smith Water Products Company, Bradford White Corporation, Rheem Water Heating, and Rinnai Water Heating comprise the sponsors of the Coalition. Other Instrumental partners include Natural Resources Canada and the U.S. Department of Energy.
The ENERGY STAR label on qualified residential water heaters encourages consumers to invest in high efficiency. Consumers who might not consider higher efficiency water heaters will be able to choose highly energy efficient water heaters with confidence because they know and trust the ENERGY STAR brand.
